How it works

Two independent cooling systems (Abt, Greentoe): fresh food and freezer each get their own cooling. Check the tech sheet for the evaporator/fan layout; sealed-system work is referral only (EPA 608).

Middle drawers: the left drawer holds a selected preset (meat/fish, greens/herbs, deli/cheese, thaw/marinate, drinks, per Greentoe); the right drawer is a produce drawer.

Ice made in the In-Door-Ice bin on the inside of the left door, delivered to the exterior dispenser.

Water passes the EveryDrop EDR2RXD1 filter (Abt, KitchenAid parts site).

Samsung asks owners not to unplug or press buttons to make a code go away, because that erases what the technician needs; only a few power-related codes are cleared by a 60-second power cut. An OF OF or similar display is Cooling Off (demo) mode, not a fault. The test mode is entered by holding a model-specific pair of buttons until the display blanks, then pressing a button to step through modes, one of which is forced defrost (Fd).

Whirlpool says routine condenser cleaning is often not needed in a normal home but recommends inspecting and cleaning every few months where there is dust, grease or pets; older GE manuals say at least yearly.
