Safety first

Unplug the refrigerator (or switch off its circuit) before removing panels, the machine-compartment cover or any harness.
Close the water supply before working on the inlet valve, filter head or door water lines; keep towels down.
Sealed system (compressor, condenser, evaporator tubing, refrigerant): diagnosis only. Charging, brazing or opening the system is EPA 608 work for a certified technician.
Never chip ice off the evaporator with tools; a punctured tube vents refrigerant and ends the repair.
Defrost heaters and metal frames get hot; let them cool before handling.
Get help moving the unit: these refrigerators weigh well over 300 lb.

How it works

No-frost cooling with MultiAirFlow: cold air is spread through several outlets in the fresh-food section. Bosch does not state the evaporator layout on its product page; the tech data in the unit decides.

QuickIce Pro: Bosch rates ice production at 12 lb per 24 h with about 3 lb of storage; ice is dispensed through the exterior dispenser, which also has a Bottle Fill feature.

SuperCool and superFreezing temporarily lower the set points after loading; EcoMode raises them to save energy. A customer who left EcoMode on may report "not cold enough".

Water passes the UltraClarity Pro cartridge before the ice maker and dispenser; a separate AirFresh filter treats the fresh-food air.

Door-open alarm on the fresh-food section; Home Connect app can show status and alerts.

Samsung refrigerators: reading display codes, Cooling Off (demo) mode, and forced defrost (Fd) / test mode concepts

Samsung asks owners not to unplug or press buttons to make a code go away, because that erases what the technician needs; only a few power-related codes are cleared by a 60-second power cut. An OF OF or similar display is Cooling Off (demo) mode, not a fault. The test mode is entered by holding a model-specific pair of buttons until the display blanks, then pressing a button to step through modes, one of which is forced defrost (Fd).

LG's Smart Diagnosis sends the appliance's status to the ThinQ app over Wi-Fi or, on older models, as an audible tone the phone picks up near the appliance speaker; the app then shows the result. Whirlpool says routine condenser cleaning is often not needed in a normal home but recommends inspecting and cleaning every few months where there is dust, grease or pets; older GE manuals say at least yearly. Many current GE models have a sealed 'NeverClean' condenser that needs no cleaning, and some Whirlpool models can only be cleaned by a technician.
