Sony BRAVIA 7 Mini-LED (XR70, 2024): quick sheet
Covers: Sony BRAVIA 7 (2024) mini-LED Google TVs: K-55XR70, K-65XR70, K-75XR70, K-85XR70. Replaced by the BRAVIA 7 II (RGB mini-LED), which is a different platform.
Sony's cheapest 2024 TV with local dimming: mini-LED backlight, VA-type LCD, Google TV. Only two of the four HDMI inputs have full HDMI 2.1 bandwidth. Repair blocks: power board, mini-LED backlight, main board, panel electronics.
Safety first
- Unplug and wait before opening.
- Live tests on power board or LED driver are caution work.
- Two-person panel handling.
How it works
Power board makes standby, logic and LED drive rails; the main board (Google TV) runs dimming control and sends video to the panel timing electronics.
Mini-LEDs sit on boards behind the diffuser, grouped into zones. A dead zone is a dark block; a driver fault can black out a region or the whole screen.
Sony sets report faults with a blinking front LED; count the blinks before opening and compare with Sony's support pages for the model.
