GE JB735 (JB735SPSS) 30-inch freestanding convection electric range with No Preheat Air Fry: quick sheet
Covers: GE JB735S*SS / JB735**** 30-inch freestanding radiant glass-top electric convection ranges (stainless JB735SPSS; check the rating label for the finish suffix). The gas twin is the JGB735 (see the JGBS66 / JGB735 quick sheet). Early 2020s; GE marks it no longer manufactured, and Abt lists the GRF600AVSS as the replacement.
A 5.3 cu ft single-oven GE with rear-fan convection, built-in No Preheat Air Fry (no basket needed), self-clean plus a steam-clean option, a hidden bake element and five radiant zones including a 3,100 W Power Boil and an 80 W warming zone. Diagnosis follows the standard GE ERC range pattern.
Safety first
- Turn the breaker off before any panel removal; 240 V can be fatal.
- Live voltage checks on the ERC, elements or terminal block are trained-tech work.
- Re-engage the anti-tip bracket after moving the range.
- Let the oven cool fully after self-clean before service.
How it works
Oven: the electronic range control (ERC) reads a resistance oven sensor and switches the hidden bake, broil and convection circuits by relay. A rear fan with its own element circulates air for convection and air fry.
Cooktop: each radiant zone is run by an infinite switch on the rear console; dual zones use a dual switch. The center rear warming zone runs at low power.
Self-clean: the door lock motor locks the door before the oven heats to clean temperature; steam clean is a low-heat cycle using water poured into the oven bottom.
