Frigidaire Gallery and Professional 30-inch induction ranges: quick sheet
Covers: Frigidaire 30 in. freestanding induction ranges on the Electrolux induction platform: Gallery FGIF3036TF (and TF* revision suffixes), Gallery GCRI3058AF (Total Convection with Air Fry), Gallery GCRI305CAF, and Professional PCFI3080AF (5-zone cooktop, larger 6.2 cu. ft. oven). Read the full model and serial number from the rating label (oven frame or storage drawer area) before ordering parts; revisions change boards.
Four-zone (Professional: five-zone) induction cooktop over a convection oven with an electronic oven control (ESEOC/touch display depending on model). The cooktop is driven by left and right induction generator boards with their own cooling fans; the oven uses bake and broil elements plus a convection fan with a third element on Total Convection models. Typical calls are pan-detection complaints, one zone or one side dead (generator board, coil or burnt coil connector), oven F-codes from the sensor or keypad, and lock-related complaints.
Safety first
- Turn off the breaker (both 240 V legs) before removing any panel or lifting the cooktop.
- Induction generator boards store high DC voltage on capacitors; wait and verify discharge before touching. Board diagnosis and replacement is for trained technicians only (caution).
- Live voltage checks at the terminal block are 240 V: insulated probes, one hand clear.
- Reinstall the anti-tip bracket every time the range is moved.
- Do not operate the cooktop with cracked glass.
How it works
Cooktop: each zone is an induction coil driven by a generator (inverter) board; one board usually serves the zones on one side. The user interface board under the cooktop controls sends the requested level to the generator boards. Auto Sizing pan detection senses the pan and only energizes the coil area the pan covers; if no suitable pan is found the zone indicator flashes (a blinking 'P'/pan symbol is reported by owners) and the zone does not heat.
Cooling and noise: fans start whenever the induction boards or oven need cooling and can run while the range is off, until parts cool. Frigidaire states that cookware hum or buzz, control clicking as zones cycle, and expansion noises during heat-up and cool-down are normal.
Oven: the electronic oven control reads an RTD temperature sensor (about 1,080-1,100 ohms at room temperature) and cycles the bake, broil and convection elements through relays. Total Convection/Air Fry models (GCRI3058AF, GCRI305CAF, PCFI3080AF) run the rear convection element and fan for Air Fry; retailer copy says no special tray is required on the Professional model; on some models the air-fry tray is sold separately.
Locks: a control/door lock (shown as Loc or a dash on the display) disables the cooktop and oven keys; on most current Frigidaire ranges it is toggled by holding OFF/Lock for several seconds (Frigidaire's support article says 6 seconds; some models use a 3-second lockout pad). Self clean or steam clean uses the motorized door lock, and lock faults appear as F90-F94.
