Bosch 800 Series HEI8056U (electric) / HII8056U (induction) 30-inch slide-in range: quick sheet
Covers: Bosch 800 Series 30-inch front-control slide-in ranges with a 4.6 cu. ft. convection oven and a warming drawer: HEI8056U (radiant glass-ceramic top, five elements) and HII8056U (induction top). Bosch support pages list several production (FD/version) variants for HII8056U (/01-/04). Both are marked no longer available by Bosch but are common in service. Read the E-Nr and FD number on the rating label (behind the warming drawer) before ordering parts.
BSH-built European-style slide-ins: hardwired 208/240 V, no plug, electronic touch control for the oven and cooktop, European convection oven with 11 modes including proof and convection multi-rack, self-clean, and a separate warming drawer. The two models share the oven, warming drawer and cabinet; the top is either radiant elements on relays (HEI) or induction power modules (HII). Most service calls are supply/wiring issues after install, warming drawer faults, door lock after self-clean, and on HII the usual induction cookware and cooling issues.
Safety first
- Hardwired 240 V: breaker off and verify before opening any panel.
- Induction modules hold a high DC bus voltage after power-off; wait several minutes and verify (trained techs only).
- A zone that will not turn off: kill the breaker immediately.
- Do not run a cracked glass top.
How it works
Supply: both models are hardwired on 240/208 V; Bosch lists 14.8 kW (HEI8056U, 11.3 kW at 208 V) and 13.8 kW (HII8056U). Bosch's pages show 40 A protection, but a newer spec sheet revision for HEI8056U calls for 50 A while an older one says 40 A: size the breaker to the installation instructions that match the unit's FD number.
Oven: an electronic control reads an oven temperature sensor and drives bake, broil and a convection (rear) element with a fan through relays. Convection modes include bake, roast, multi-rack and broil. Self-clean locks the door and runs high heat with a cooling fan protecting the electronics.
HEI8056U cooktop: radiant ribbon elements under glass, switched by the touch control through relays; multi-ring elements switch extra rings for larger pans; hot-surface indicators are driven from element on-time.
HII8056U cooktop: induction coils driven by inverter power modules (high-voltage DC bus, high-frequency switching). Pan detection, overheating and supply monitoring follow the Bosch induction platform; read a fault by pressing and holding the affected zone's touch key, per Bosch support.
Warming drawer: a separate low-wattage element and control in the drawer cavity below the oven, running on the drawer's own mode in the oven control.
