Midea U-shaped inverter window AC (MAW…V1QWT / U1QWT): quick sheet
Covers: Midea U-shaped inverter window units: MAW08V1QWT, MAW10V1QWT, MAW12V1QWT and earlier MAW…U1QWT models. Years not confirmed; check the rating label.
The window unit that popularized the U-shape: the chassis straddles the sash so the window can close down into the U, reducing noise and leakage. Inverter compressor; app control through Midea's SmartHome app. Cooling, dry and fan only (no heat on the 12K V1 model).
Safety first
- Unplug before opening; inverter capacitors can hold charge.
- Sealed system blocked: refer to an EPA 608-certified technician.
- Secure the unit during install to prevent falls from windows.
How it works
A variable-speed inverter compressor modulates capacity instead of cycling, which is why it is quieter (Midea quotes as low as 32 dBA indoor).
Installed with a quick-snap bracket and adjustable window panels; the outdoor half sits outside the U.
Condensate collects in the base pan and is thrown onto the condenser by the fan; a drain plug allows draining.
