LiftMaster wall-mount jackshaft openers (8500W generation / 84505R): quick sheet
Covers: LiftMaster wall-mount (jackshaft) openers of the Wi-Fi / myQ era: 8500W, 8500WRGD, 8500WLA, LJ8900W, LJ8950W (codes published by Chamberlain), and the successor 84505R. Confirm codes on the unit label for the 84505R.
Mounts beside the torsion tube instead of on the ceiling. Uses the same UP/DOWN arrow flash codes as other Chamberlain-group openers, plus codes for cable tension monitors and the automatic garage door lock.
Safety first
- Torsion springs, drums and cables are blocked: refer to a trained door technician.
- Unplug before opening the cover.
How it works
The motor drives the torsion bar directly; a cable tension monitor detects slack cable; an automatic lock may be fitted.
Codes are shown as UP flashes then DOWN flashes.
Timer-to-Close and myQ remote closing require the myQ remote LED light accessory on standard models.
