LiftMaster 87504 / Chamberlain B6765 & B4643T belt-drive openers (Security+ 2.0, myQ): quick sheet
Covers: Chamberlain Group belt-drive DC openers of the Security+ 2.0 / myQ era (post-2012 units with a round yellow LEARN button): LiftMaster 87504-267 Secure View (camera, battery backup) and Chamberlain B6765 / B4643T retail models. Confirm the code table on the label inside the light lens.
The best-selling US openers. Diagnostics are blinked on the UP and DOWN arrow LEDs on the motor unit: count UP flashes, then DOWN flashes (e.g. 1-4). Most calls are safety sensors, travel limits and door binding. Door springs and cables are not opener work.
Safety first
- Torsion and extension springs and cables are blocked: refer to a trained door technician.
- Unplug the opener before opening the cover.
- Test the reversal system after any adjustment.
How it works
DC motor drives a belt and trolley; a travel module/encoder sets limits electronically (programmed with the adjustment buttons).
Safety reversing sensors (photo eyes) must see each other with steady LEDs or the door won't close; lights flash when a close is refused.
Battery backup models charge a battery from the logic board; myQ adds Wi-Fi control.
