Safety first

  • Unplug the washer and close both water valves before removing any panel.
  • Drain through the pump filter into a shallow pan before opening the door on a washer that stopped full; expect more water than the pan holds.
  • The tub and counterweights are heavy: support the tub before removing springs or dampers.

How it works

The door locks, the control fills through the dispenser to a pressure-sensed level, and the direct-drive motor tumbles the drum.

After wash the pump drains through the front filter, then the drum ramps to spin (WFW5620H up to about 1200 rpm per retailer listing) while the control checks balance.

The door unlocks only after the drum stops and the water level is safe.
