U-Line 15-inch clear ice machines (UHCP115 pump / UHCL115 gravity, 3 Class): quick sheet
Covers: U-Line 15 in residential clear-cube undercounter ice machines: UHCP115 (factory drain pump) and UHCL115 (gravity drain only) in stainless, black, white and integrated finishes (e.g. UHCP115-SS01A, UHCL115-WS01A). Outdoor UOCP115 and ADA ACP115 versions share much of the design but check their own guides.
Grid-type clear-ice cuber that freezes 32 cubes per cycle in a 4 x 8 slab and harvests with hot gas, with an electronic control that has a service mode with temperature readings, an error log and a relay toggle for testing each component. Calls are scale (clean alert), slab not releasing, wrong cube thickness, drain backing up (gravity drain with a trap or no fall, or a failed pump) and the 'dr' door error.
Safety first
- Disconnect power before maintenance.
- Wear gloves and eye protection with ice machine cleaner.
- Sealed-system work (refrigerant) is referral only for an EPA 608 certified technician.
How it works
Water is pumped over a refrigerated grid so ice forms in layers (clear cubes). At the default thickness a cycle takes about 15-20 minutes and leaves cubes with a 1/4-1/2 in dimple and a thin ice bridge.
Ice thickness is adjustable one step at a time from the control; wait 24 hours before re-checking. A thicker bridge makes cubes stick together as a slab.
Water supply: 1/4 in compression fitting, cold potable water at 20-120 psi, with a shut-off valve; U-Line warns against plastic supply line.
Gravity drain models need the drain to fall at least about 1/4 in per foot with no traps under the unit and the drain not directly below it (solid base). Pump models lift up to 10 ft, routed up as close to the back of the unit as possible.
Rated indoor only, for 50-100 °F ambient; production falls in a hot space.
