Speed Queen TC5-series top-load washer: quick sheet
Covers: Speed Queen TC5 'Classic Clean' top-load washer, current product code TC5003WN (model number AWN632SP116TW02), re-released around 2019 by Alliance Laundry. Earlier TC5 builds share the mechanical design; check the label for the exact model.
A mechanical-control agitator washer with a transmission, a two-speed motor and no lid lock: no display, no stored codes, and diagnosis by watching each stage. It is the go-to for customers who want a non-HE machine. Broader TC5/TR coverage: see the Speed Queen top-load washer field service manual.
Safety first
- Unplug before opening the cabinet
- No lid lock: keep hands out of a spinning basket during tests
How it works
The cycle selector (6 presets) and a variable water-level selector drive the sequence; a level switch on an air-dome hose ends the fill.
A two-speed 1/2 HP motor turns the transmission by belt: the transmission oscillates the agitator for wash and locks the basket for spin.
Drain then spin to about 710 rpm; an automatic balancing system helps, and a lid switch (not a lock) stops spin when the lid opens.
