Sony BRAVIA X90J / X90K / X90L full-array LED: quick sheet
Covers: Sony BRAVIA XR X90J (2021), X90K/X90CK (2022) and X90L/X90CL (2023) 4K full-array LED sets on Google TV.
Sony's mid-range full-array set with the Cognitive Processor XR. Zone count rose each year (RTINGS measured about 24 on X90J, 54 on X90K and 88 on X90L test units). Field calls: backlight strings, red-LED blink shutdowns, Google TV software hangs and HDMI 2.1 setup.
Safety first
- Unplug and wait before opening; power-board capacitors hold charge.
- Powered backlight and power-board tests are caution work.
- Two-person panel handling.
How it works
Power board, main board (Google TV, XR processor), T-con and a full-array LED backlight with local dimming.
When the set detects an internal fault it shuts down and blinks the red LED; Sony states the meaning varies by model and that most blink conditions need service. Count the blinks and give the count with the model number when ordering parts or calling Sony.
Sony's documented reset ladder: remote restart (hold POWER about 5 s until 'Power off'), menu restart, then a power reset (unplug for 2 minutes), and on some Google TV models holding the set's own POWER key about 40 s.
