Samsung DW80R5060 (DW80R5060US) dishwasher: quick sheet
Covers: Samsung 24 in top-control DW80R5060* (US stainless, UG black stainless and other finishes) and the near-identical DW80R5061; sold approx. 2019-2023 (inferred from the 2020 spec sheet and listings).
Samsung's best-selling StormWash model: 48 dBA, 15 place settings, stainless tub, third rack and an AutoRelease door that opens at the end of the cycle. Samsung's two-character codes (4C, 5C, LC, HE) show on the display, and leak (LC) and drain (5C) calls dominate.
Safety first
- Turn off the breaker (or unplug) before removing the toe kick or any panel; a hard-wired unit can still be live at the junction box.
- Close the hot-water supply valve before touching the inlet valve or supply line.
- Let the unit cool after a cycle: the heating element, heater housing and water can be hot enough to burn.
- Sump and filter areas often hold broken glass; wear cut-resistant gloves.
- Never bypass the float, flood or leak switch to make a unit run; find the source of the water instead.
How it works
Wash: a wash pump feeds the lower arm, upper arm and third rack. StormWash adds powerful rotating spray jets on top of the standard arms; Samsung says they clean from every angle.
Heat and dry: a heater warms the water; drying uses heat, and the AutoRelease door pops open at the end to let steam out. Owners can change heated drying settings, so check that before calling wet dishes a fault.
Leak protection: a leak sensor in the base pan stops the cycle and runs the drain pump when it sees water (LC).
Filter: a manual-clean cylindrical filter with a fine mesh plate sits in the tub floor.
