Covers: Samsung 24-inch top-control DW80CG5450SR (stainless) and DW80CG5450MT (black stainless), with the DW80CG542***** sibling (14 place settings, no third rack). ENERGY STAR lists both DW80CG542***** and DW80CG545***** on the market from July 2023 (C = 2023). Canadian version: DW80CG5450SRAA.
Current entry-to-mid Samsung dishwasher: StormWash high-pressure jet, AutoRelease door dry, third rack (on 545x), top hidden controls, 46 dBA. Same fault logic as other Samsung DW80 dishwashers: 4C/4E water supply, 5C/5E drain, LC/LE leak, HE/HC heater. Deep diagnostics: see the Samsung dishwasher field service manual.
Safety first
- Switch off the circuit and shut the water before removing the kick plate or pulling the unit.
- Water in the sump may be hot right after a cycle.
- Live-voltage checks at the valve, pump or board are caution work.
- Watch for broken glass in the filter and pump.
How it works
The inlet valve fills the sump; a circulation (wash) pump feeds the spray arms and the StormWash jet. A heater warms the water (one retailer lists 1,200 W) and a temperature sensor reports to the board.
Water drains through a filter in the tub floor to a small drain pump (one retailer lists about 35 W). A leak sensor in the base pan stops the cycle and shows LC/LE when water collects there.
AutoRelease dry pops the door open at the end of the cycle so steam escapes; Heated Dry can be added as an option.
Soil sensing (listed by ENERGY STAR) lets the Auto cycle adjust water and time.
