LG MVEL2125 (MVEL2125F / D) 2.1 cu ft over-the-range microwave with ExtendaVent 2.0: quick sheet
Covers: LG MVEL2125F (PrintProof stainless) and MVEL2125D (PrintProof black stainless) 30-inch over-the-range microwaves with EasyClean interior, sensor cook, ExtendaVent 2.0 and Wi-Fi/ThinQ. LG and retailers list the F version as discontinued, with MVEL2125X named by LG as the newer model (check its own parts list).
Mid-range LG OTR: 2.1 cu ft, 1,050 W output, 400 CFM, LED lighting, hidden vent and humidity-sensor cooking. Before quoting HV parts, open the case and check whether it uses an iron-core transformer or an inverter board; the fault logic below covers both, but parts and tests differ. LG's microwave codes F3 (key short) and F4 (humidity sensor) apply.
Safety first
- Microwave high voltage (transformer or inverter board) can be lethal: unplug and discharge before touching internal parts. All internal HV work is caution.
- Never operate with the case off or with a damaged door or seal.
- Breaker off and two people for wall removal.
How it works
Start energizes the high-voltage section that drives the magnetron; the turntable and cavity fan run with it. Door interlock switches must all read correctly or it won't heat (and a failed switch can blow the line fuse).
The vent fan pulls cooktop air through the grease filters; ExtendaVent 2.0 is a pull-out vent extension that covers more of the cooktop.
Sensor cook uses a humidity sensor; a failed sensor shows F4 and sensor cycles stop early or never finish.
ThinQ adds app control and scan-to-cook; it does not change the basic heating circuit.
