LG's top QuadWash Pro model: 15 place settings, 42 dBA, NeveRust stainless tub, height-adjustable third rack, steam and a hot-air drying module (Dynamic Heat Dry). It adds parts older LG units do not have: a drying fan/heater module with its own codes and a steam generator.

  • Do not bypass the flood float.

How it works

Wash: an inverter direct-drive wash motor feeds three spray arms (top, upper, lower); QuadWash Pro arms spray from several angles. The Vario system routes water between zones, and a fault there can show nE on many LG models.

Steam: TrueSteam heats a small amount of water in a steam generator to loosen soil and reduce spots. LG steam-generator faults use their own code family on steam models; see the tech sheet.

Dynamic Heat Dry: a hot-air drying module circulates heated air through the tub. LG lists F31 (heat dry fan) and F35 (heat dry temperature) on Dynamic Heat Dry models, and F37 for the auto-open door on models that have one.

Sensing and protection: soil (turbidity) sensor for Auto, thermistor, flood float for leaks. Common LG codes: IE (no fill), OE (drain), AE/FE (leak or overfill), HE (heater), tE (temperature sensor), LE (wash motor), bE (suds).

Dishwasher detergent dispenser won't open (detergent left in the cup)

First rule out blocking dishes, caked detergent and an unfinished cycle. Then test the dispenser actuator (a wax motor or bimetal/solenoid on most units) for an open circuit, and check whether the control sends 120 V to it during the wash. A cup that opens but leaves detergent behind is a wash problem, not a dispenser problem.

Gritty or sandy residue on dishes after washing

Grit is usually redeposited soil: a clogged filter, a drain that cannot clear (air gap, disposer, hose) or detergent that did not dissolve. Hard water causes white film rather than grit. Work from the filter outward, then check the drain path and the wash motor.

Dishwasher completely dead: no lights, no response (supply, door switch, thermal fuse)

Prove supply voltage at the junction box with a meter before blaming any part. Then check the door switch circuit and, on units that have one, the one-time thermal fuse near the control. Replace the control board only after these pass.
