Honeywell portable dehumidifiers (TP30 / TP50 / TP70 and DH70 series): quick sheet
Covers: Honeywell-branded portable dehumidifiers sold at big-box stores: TP30, TP50, TP70 (incl. TP50PWKNN, TP70PWKN, TP70PWK pump models, TP70AWKN smart model) and DH-series (e.g. DH70PWKN). Tanks about 3.3-6.8 L.
Very common rental-property and basement unit. Honeywell's support data has a short code list; E3 is about environment (too hot, or recently moved) rather than a failed part, and several 'faults' are tank seating, drain setup or the DH-series 1-hour rest after 24 hours of running.
Safety first
- Unplug before handling the tank pump or filter.
- Sealed-system faults are blocked (EPA 608).
How it works
Compressor and fan dehumidify within a room-temperature window of about 41-89 F (5-32 C).
Water collects in a tank with a float switch, drains by gravity through a hose (must slope down all the way, kept short), or is pushed by a built-in pump on PWK models up to about 16 ft.
The fan can keep running several minutes after the compressor stops; a 5-8% difference from a separate hygrometer is treated as normal.
DH-series units take a rest of about 1 hour after 24 hours of operation (shown as SA) and restart on their own.
