Miele dishwasher (G 4000-G 7000 generations): field service manual
Covers: Miele built-in dishwashers sold in the US, older G 1xxx-G 6xxx and the G 5xxx/G 7xxx generations from 2019 on (including AutoDos/PowerDisk units). Codes and parts vary by generation; confirm on the model's tech sheet.
Miele dishwashers report faults as F-codes. The Waterproof System adds a float switch in the base pan (F70) and supply-side protection. The most common calls are F11 drainage faults, often caused by a mis-seated drain pump cover (newer generation) or a displaced non-return valve (older generation), not a dead pump.

How it works
Fill: the inlet valve fills the tub; a flow meter measures intake. Low supply pressure, a closed stopcock or a blocked inlet screen sets intake faults (F12/F13).
Wash and heat: the circulation pump moves water to the spray arms; the water is heated under control of a heater relay, a temperature sensor and a heater pressure switch that proves water is present before heating (F14 for the pressure switch, F24 for the heater relay).
Drain: the drain pump sits under the filter combination. On G 5xxx/G 7xxx (2019 on) the drain pump has a cover that must sit flush; on G 1xxx-G 6xxx a non-return valve sits in the drain path. If either is out of place, water flows back and F11 appears.
Leak protection: water in the base pan lifts the float switch and the control shows F70 and stops filling.
