Midea dishwasher (built-in and countertop): field service manual
Covers: Midea-built dishwashers sold in the US under Midea and Comfee badges: 24 in built-ins and countertop units. Codes apply to models with a digital display; non-display models flash indicator lamps instead.
Midea dishwashers are simple value units: inlet valve, a tub float for level, a base-pan float for flood protection, a wash pump, a drain pump, a heater with an NTC sensor and, on better models, a turbidity sensor. Countertop units connect to the kitchen faucet with an adapter, so fill problems often start at the faucet. Display-to-board communication faults (Ed) usually come from the harness flexing through the door hinge.
Safety first
- Kill power before removing the toe kick on built-ins.
- Turn off water before servicing the inlet valve.
How it works
Fill: the inlet valve opens until the level float is satisfied; if this takes too long the control sets E1.
Wash: the wash pump circulates water to the spray arms; a heater brings water to temperature, read by a thermistor; failure to reach temperature sets E3.
Flood protection: water in the base pan lifts a float; the control sets E4, stops filling and drains.
Drain: the drain pump empties the tub through the filter; built-ins need a high loop or air gap and an open disposer knockout.
Display: the door-mounted display talks to the main board over a harness; a broken link shows Ed.
