A 28-inch all-in-one with a ventless heat pump and a two-stage lint filter reached from the top. It runs on a dedicated 120 V circuit and is closet-approved. Most service calls involve lint-filter clogging (code 353), drain pump filter alerts and drying performance tied to lint on the heat sink.

How it works

Wash: front-load sequence with door lock, hot and cold fill, drain through a pump with a cleanable filter, and spin. GE's display gives plain-text prompts such as Confirm H2O Supply is ON and Check and Clean Drain Pump Filter.

Dry: a high-airflow heat pump recirculates air through the drum and a heat-pump coil (heat sink) without venting. The two-stage lint filter (mesh plus foam) sits at the top; fabric-softener film on the foam is a common cause of clogging.

Lockouts: some prompts start a short lockout (about 4 minutes) while the unit drains or resets, which owners can mistake for a dead unit.

Software: the unit connects through the SmartHQ app; a reviewer's first unit would not heat until a software update was installed, so check for updates before replacing parts.
