Frigidaire / Electrolux front-load washer: field service manual

Covers: Frigidaire (including Affinity and Gallery) and Electrolux front-loaders with E-code diagnostics.

Single sourceBrands: Frigidaire, Electrolux6 components

These washers use a main control with a motor control board, a pressure sensor, a door lock with a PTC-type actuator, and a drain pump with a front filter on many models. Codes are shown as E plus two digits (or flashed on lights on non-display models), and the diagnostic mode is entered from the buttons then stepped with the program knob.

Safety first

  • Unplug before panel removal.
  • Diagnostic high-spin: hands out of the drum.

How it works

Start: door switch and lock engage; lock faults show E40/E41.

Fill: valves route water through the dispenser; pressure sensor reports level; no water gives E10, slow fill E11, overfill E35, pressure sensor fault E31.

Wash: tumble with optional heater; water temperature sensor.

Drain: pump with filter; drain faults E20/E21; EF1 for a blocked filter/hose on later models.

Spin: the motor control board ramps the drum; motor tach faults are in the E5x range.
