Guide · Dryer

Speed Queen dryer runs but does not heat (electric)

Most cases are a blown thermal fuse and/or failed high-limit caused by a restricted vent. Clear the vent before replacing parts, then test the fuse, high-limit and element.

One home-inspector source lists Raytheon-era units (before ~2002) as: first 2 digits = year, next 2 = week.

EXAMPLE ONLY: 0315xxxxxx -> 2003, week 15.

The same source also lists Whirlpool/Maytag formats on its Speed Queen page, which looks copied from the Amana page; current Alliance-era format not confirmed.
