Frigidaire 50-pint dehumidifier (FFAD5033 and similar): quick sheet
Covers: Frigidaire portable dehumidifiers, especially the FFAD5033W1 50-pint and related FFAD / FGAC models (pump models show the PU code). Codes per Frigidaire's dehumidifier error code guide.
Very common basement unit. Frigidaire publishes a single code list for its dehumidifiers. EC and F0 mean sealed-system failure, which is not field-repairable for us; most other calls are icing, clearance, filter and drain issues.
Safety first
- Unplug before opening.
- Sealed system blocked.
How it works
Compressor-driven refrigeration coil condenses moisture; a fan blows air over the coil and reheats it over the condenser.
Water collects in the bucket, or drains by gravity hose, or (pump models) is pumped out.
Operating room temperature range is 41-89 °F; outside it the unit may ice or trip its compressor overload.
