Counter-depth (about 28.5-29 in deep per retailers) four-door unit with a Beverage Center (water dispenser and auto-fill pitcher inside the fresh-food section) and a dual ice maker that makes regular cubes plus small Ice Bites. It shares Samsung's dual-evaporator French-door architecture, so diagnosis follows the same order: ice maker area, fresh-food coil icing, then sensors, fans and board.
Safety first
- Unplug the refrigerator (or switch off its circuit) before removing covers, fans, heaters, sensors or the machine-compartment panel.
- Shut off and bleed the water supply before opening the water valve or ice maker fill connections; have towels ready.
- Never chip ice off an evaporator with tools: a punctured coil is a sealed-system failure. Thaw with power off, a forced defrost, or gentle steam/warm air (no open flame, no heat gun near plastics).
- Live-voltage checks at the main board or inverter board are caution work: insulated probes, one hand, no jewelry.
- Sealed refrigerant system (compressor replacement, leak repair, recharge, brazing) is blocked: confirm the symptom, protect the food, and refer to an EPA 608-certified technician.
How it works
Separate fresh-food and freezer evaporators with their own fans and defrost heaters; the board routes refrigerant through a valve in the sealed system, which is not field-serviceable.
Beverage Center: filtered water feeds an inside dispenser and an AutoFill pitcher. Because the water path runs inside the cabinet, slow-fill complaints are usually filter, pressure or valve issues, not a frozen door line.
Dual ice maker: one ice maker makes standard cubes and the second makes small Ice Bites (per Samsung's support material). Confirm on the model's user manual which compartment each one sits in before ordering parts.
The middle FlexZone drawer runs a selectable temperature mode supplied from the freezer side.
