Samsung DVE45R6100-series electric dryer: quick sheet
Covers: DVE45R6100W, DVE45R6100P, DVE45R6100V and DVE45R6100C electric dryers (7.5 cu ft, Steam Sanitize+), the match for the WF45R6100 washer, about 2019-2022 (Samsung spec sheets). Gas siblings are DVG45R6100*.
A 27-inch front-load electric dryer with steam, Sensor Dry and 4-way venting. Steam needs a cold-water hookup at the rear. Most no-heat calls trace to the thermal fuse after a restricted vent. Deep diagnostics: see the Samsung DV dryer field service manual.
Safety first
- Unplug the dryer (240 V circuit) before opening the cabinet; both legs of the breaker must be off for any hands-in work.
- Let the heater box cool; elements and ducts stay hot for several minutes after a cycle.
- A blown thermal fuse is a symptom, not a root cause: clear the full vent run before returning the dryer to service.
- Gas versions (DVG / DLG / DLGX) share the drum and airflow parts, but the gas valve, burner and gas line are blocked: diagnose, shut the gas off if you smell gas, and refer to a licensed gas technician.
How it works
The motor turns the drum by belt and the blower moves air through the heater and drum to the exhaust. The control cycles the heater using a thermistor reading and ends Sensor Dry cycles when the moisture bars read dry.
Safety devices in the heat path (high-limit thermostat and a one-time thermal fuse) open on overheat; a restricted vent is the usual trigger.
Steam options open a water valve and inject a small amount of water into the drum; the rest of the cycle works like any electric dryer.
