LG DLEX4000-series electric dryer: quick sheet
Covers: DLEX4000W 7.4 cu ft electric dryers, gas twins DLGX4001*, match for WM4000H*A; LG builder spec sheets dated 2024 and 2025 (approximate years 2019 onward).
The steam-capable (X) sibling in LG's 4000 line: same drum, heater and Flow Sense logic as the DLE3400W, plus a water feed for steam cycles. Confirm the rear water hookup on site. Deep diagnostics: see the LG dryer field service manual.
Safety first
- Unplug the dryer (240 V circuit) before opening the cabinet; both legs of the breaker must be off for any hands-in work.
- Let the heater box cool; elements and ducts stay hot for several minutes after a cycle.
- A blown thermal fuse is a symptom, not a root cause: clear the full vent run before returning the dryer to service.
- Gas versions (DVG / DLG / DLGX) share the drum and airflow parts, but the gas valve, burner and gas line are blocked: diagnose, shut the gas off if you smell gas, and refer to a licensed gas technician.
How it works
Heat, airflow and Sensor Dry logic match the DLE3400W. Flow Sense reports vent restriction as d75 to d95.
Steam cycles draw water through an inlet valve at the rear; LG lists E05-type supply messages and tE2 during steam cycles in cold conditions.
