Insignia / Toshiba Fire TV Edition (F30, C350 class): quick sheet
Covers: Fire TV Edition sets sold mainly by Best Buy and Amazon: Insignia F30 4K series (e.g. NS-50F301NA22 / NS-55F301NA22, and the NA24 year) and Toshiba C350 4K Fire TV. Board and strip designs vary by year suffix; Toshiba C350 board compatibility with Insignia is not confirmed (retailer parts listings, repair Q&A).
Budget direct-lit 4K LCDs running Amazon Fire TV OS. Very common in rentals and offices. Typical failure: horizontal lines or flicker, then sound with a black screen — backlight strips first, power board second. Repair cost often approaches replacement cost, so quote carefully.
Safety first
- Unplug the set and wait several minutes before opening the back: the power-supply primary capacitors can hold a dangerous charge after unplugging.
- Power-supply and LED-driver checks with the set plugged in are caution work: insulated probes, one hand, no jewelry, and never touch the primary (hot) side.
- Lay the panel face-down only on a clean, padded, flat surface; open-cell panels crack from twisting or pressure on the glass.
- Two people for 55-inch and larger sets; lift by the frame, never by the screen.
- Use ESD protection when handling the main board and T-con; the flat flex cables tear easily.
How it works
Power board feeds the Fire TV main board and LED drive; main board sends video to the panel T-con.
Direct-lit LED strips in series; one bad LED blacks out the string. Fire TV OS handles inputs and updates; a factory reset is in Settings > Device & Software.
Strip sets are model-version specific (e.g. LB5010C set listed for NS-50F301NA22); match by the number printed on the strips.
