Hisense U7 ULED / Mini-LED (U7H / U7K / U7N): quick sheet
Covers: Hisense U7-series Google TVs: U7H (2022), U7K (2023), U7N (2024, mini-LED). North American models run Google TV (Hisense announcements via FlatpanelsHD; TechRadar; tvsbook comparison).
Gaming-oriented step-up from the U6: high native refresh (144 Hz on U7N and reportedly U7K), more dimming zones (about 342-500 depending on size and source on U7N) and higher peak brightness. Many more LEDs per set, so backlight diagnosis and part matching are the main jobs.
Safety first
- Unplug the set and wait several minutes before opening the back: the power-supply primary capacitors can hold a dangerous charge after unplugging.
- Power-supply and LED-driver checks with the set plugged in are caution work: insulated probes, one hand, no jewelry, and never touch the primary (hot) side.
- Lay the panel face-down only on a clean, padded, flat surface; open-cell panels crack from twisting or pressure on the glass.
- Two people for 55-inch and larger sets; lift by the frame, never by the screen.
- Use ESD protection when handling the main board and T-con; the flat flex cables tear easily.
How it works
Same block layout as the U6: power board, Google TV main board, T-con and zoned (mini-LED on U7N) backlight. Higher brightness means more heat in the LED array and driver.
High refresh (120/144 Hz) is handled by the main board and T-con; HDMI 2.1 inputs carry 4K 120/144 Hz from consoles and PCs, so input-specific problems can be cable or port settings rather than hardware.
Zone counts and native refresh claims differ between sources and sizes; always confirm against the exact model number on the rear label.
