Hisense U6 ULED (U6H / U6K / U6N): quick sheet

Covers: Hisense U6-series ULED Google TVs: U6H (2022), U6K (2023), U6N (2024). North American models run Google TV (FlatpanelsHD, TechRadar, Tech Steve, Best Buy listing).

Single sourceBrands: Hisense6 components

Hisense's high-volume step-up LCD: quantum dot, full-array backlight with a modest number of zones (about 32-48 on U6H; about 200-240 on later years), 60 Hz native panel. Field problems center on the backlight and power board; main boards must match the exact part number.

Safety first

  • Unplug the set and wait several minutes before opening the back: the power-supply primary capacitors can hold a dangerous charge after unplugging.
  • Power-supply and LED-driver checks with the set plugged in are caution work: insulated probes, one hand, no jewelry, and never touch the primary (hot) side.
  • Lay the panel face-down only on a clean, padded, flat surface; open-cell panels crack from twisting or pressure on the glass.
  • Two people for 55-inch and larger sets; lift by the frame, never by the screen.
  • Use ESD protection when handling the main board and T-con; the flat flex cables tear easily.

How it works

Power board supplies the main board and backlight; the main board runs Google TV and sends zone brightness to the backlight driver and video to the T-con.

Zoned backlight means a failed LED string often appears as a dark rectangle or uneven patch. Running at maximum brightness is widely blamed for shortening strip life.

Blink codes on the standby LED exist but published meanings disagree between sources; record the count and confirm against the model's service data.
