Genie ChainMax 1000 (3022) chain drive and SilentMax 1000 (3042) belt drive openers: quick sheet
Covers: Genie 140 V DC openers rated 3/4 HPc: ChainMax 1000 (model 3022, kits such as 3022-TKH and 3022-L2KO) and its belt-drive twin SilentMax 1000 (model 3042, for example 3042-TKH). For the ChainLift 600/700/800 and StealthDrive families see the other Genie quick sheets.
Genie's upper-middle DC openers: soft start, Intellicode rolling-code radio, GenieSense monitoring and LED diagnostic flashes. ChainMax and SilentMax share the powerhead design; the drive (chain vs belt) is the main difference. HPc is Genie's 'comparable to' AC horsepower rating. Deep diagnostics: see the opener diagnostic-codes guide (Genie LED flashes) and the travel-limit guide.

How it works
A 140 V DC motor drives the carriage through a chain (3022) or belt (3042). Genie lists opening speed up to about 7.5 in/s.
Fits most residential doors up to 7 ft tall out of the box; an 8 ft extension kit (Genie part 37301R per Genie's page) is sold separately.
Intellicode security and GenieSense diagnostics; HomeLink and Car2U compatible.
Limits are set with the up/down buttons and the program button on the powerhead (see the travel-limits guide).
