GE JVM7195 (SK/DK/EK/SF) 1.9 cu ft sensor OTR microwave: quick sheet
Covers: GE JVM7195SKSS and its color/generation variants (DK, EK, SF and others). Some older JVM7195SF listings show a 3-speed 300 CFM vent, so check the exact suffix. GE OTR codes in the library (F1-F10, H97-H99) apply.
GE's long-running 1.9 cu ft OTR with sensor cooking, a 4-speed 400 CFM vent (SK generation), melt and steam-clean functions. It sits above the JVM3160 (already in the library). Typical calls: no heat, door switch/fuse, vent motor or light, and keypad faults.
Safety first
- CAUTION: the high-voltage capacitor can hold a lethal charge after the unit is unplugged. Only a trained tech opens the cabinet: unplug, wait, then discharge the capacitor with an insulated discharge tool before touching the HV section (transformer, capacitor, diode, magnetron).
- Never run the oven with the wrapper or panels off, with an interlock defeated, or empty; never take live readings in the HV circuit.
- After any door, hinge, latch or interlock work, confirm the door closes squarely and run a leakage survey (see microwave-leakage-limit-interlock-check-after-door-repair).
- OTR units are heavy and hang on a wall plate plus top-cabinet bolts: two people, and support the unit before removing the top bolts.
How it works
Standard HV circuit rated 1,000 W (IEC 705 test).
Sensor cooking ends programs from the humidity sensor reading.
Vent is convertible (recirculate with the GE JX81 charcoal kit, or outside top/rear with a 3-1/4 x 10 in duct or 6 in round through a transition).
Reset Filter reminder on GE OTRs is a 6-month timer cleared by holding Reset Filter about 3 seconds.
