Single sourceBrands: Frigidaire7 components

A basic top-console electric dryer on the Frigidaire dryer design: front drum glides, rear rollers, belt with idler, and heater protected by a high limit, thermal limiter and thermal fuse. Most calls are no heat after vent restriction and drum noise. Deep diagnostics: see the Frigidaire / Electrolux dryer field service manual.

Safety first

  • Unplug before testing; 240 V circuit
  • Fix the airflow cause before replacing a thermal fuse

How it works

The motor turns the drum by belt and runs the blower that pulls air across the heater and out the rear exhaust.

Heat is cycled by the control or cycling thermostat; safety devices on the heater housing and exhaust open on overheat.

A restricted vent raises exhaust temperature, which is the usual root cause of blown fuses and long dry times.
