Safety first
- Unplug before testing; 240 V circuit
- Gas model EFMG627: gas valve and burner are blocked; refer to a licensed gas technician
How it works
The motor drives the drum by belt and runs the blower (about 220 CFM listed) that moves air across the element and out the rear exhaust.
The element is guarded by a high-limit thermostat and a thermal limiter on the heater housing, plus a thermal fuse on the exhaust; the control reads an exhaust thermistor and the moisture bars, and Predictive Dry posts a time estimate after about 90 seconds.
Steam options spray a small amount of water into the drum for refresh and wrinkle release; steam faults come back to the water supply and steam valve first.
