Frigidaire / Electrolux dryer (electric & gas): field service manual
Covers: Frigidaire and Electrolux 27-inch dryers, including electronic models that show E-codes (E64, E66, E67, E68). Some Kenmore models are built on this platform.
Frigidaire/Electrolux dryers use a front-bulkhead design with drum glides and rollers. Electronic models flag heater-circuit faults as E64. Common callbacks are blown thermal fuses from venting, worn glides/rollers/idler, and keypad faults.
Safety first
- Live 240 V checks are caution steps
- Gas: electrical tests only; refer gas work to a licensed gas technician
- Never bypass thermal protectors
How it works
Electric heat: element with a high-limit thermostat and thermal limiter on the heater housing and a thermal fuse on the exhaust duct; control or cycling thermostat regulates.
Gas heat: hot-surface igniter, flame sensor, two-coil valve.
Airflow: rear exhaust; EF-type exhaust warnings on some models (unverified).
Moisture sensing: bars inside the drum.
