Honeywell Home T9 / T10 smart thermostats with room sensors: quick sheet
Covers: Honeywell Home T9 (RCHT9610WF, RCHT9610WFSW sensor bundles) and the related T10 Pro. Wi-Fi touchscreen thermostats with wireless smart room sensors.
A consumer/pro Wi-Fi thermostat that averages or prioritizes rooms using wireless sensors. It needs continuous 24 VAC through a C wire; when no C wire exists, the box includes a C-wire adapter installed at the furnace. Zoned systems make the adapter install more complicated.
Safety first
- Turn off HVAC power before wiring.
- Zoned systems: call Honeywell installer support before installing the C-wire adapter on a zone panel.
How it works
The thermostat is powered from R and C at 24 VAC. If there is no C conductor, a C-wire adapter at the equipment uses existing wires to deliver power and control signals.
Smart room sensors report temperature and occupancy wirelessly; the thermostat can follow the occupied room or average selected rooms.
Setup is done through the app and on-screen menus, where system type, heat pump reversing valve and backup heat are chosen.
Like other Honeywell thermostats, a compressor protection delay can hold off a call for a few minutes after the last cycle.
