Search terms: DIY-36-HP-MUAH-230D25-O, MRCOOL Hybrid Air Handler, MRCOOL ducted DIY.
A ducted replacement for an old air handler using MRCOOL's pre-charged DIY line set system. Unlike a conventional air handler, it runs from MRCOOL's own thermostat and inverter communication with the condenser, and has a self-diagnostics panel. Calls usually involve duct static and filter, condensate trap and drain, heat kit wiring, communication cable and thermostat setup.
Safety first
- Two (or three) power sources: lock out all of them.
- R-454B refrigerant work is blocked: EPA 608-certified technician.
How it works
Indoor and outdoor each get their own 208/230 V supply per the catalog (indoor MCA 4 A / 6 A, outdoor MCA 24 A / 33 A for 24 / 36).
The inverter condenser modulates capacity; the air handler runs a variable indoor blower.
An optional electric heat kit adds strip heat; it changes the indoor circuit requirement (follow the heat kit label).
