LG DLEX3700 / DLGX3701 steam dryer (7.4 cu ft, W / V): quick sheet
Covers: DLEX3700W (white) and DLEX3700V (graphite steel) electric dryers and gas twins DLGX3701W / DLGX3701V, 27-inch 7.4 cu ft vented steam dryers. ENERGY STAR lists DLEX3700* and DLGX3701* from February 2018. LG's spec sheet names WM3700H*A as the matching washer (not WM3600).
Popular LG steam dryer with Sensor Dry, Steam Fresh / Steam Sanitary cycles, Wrinkle Care, Flow Sense duct-blockage display and Wi-Fi. Steam models need a cold-water hookup to the dryer. Typical calls: d80/d90/d95 venting codes, tE thermistor codes, steam 'Add Water' faults, no heat and roller/idler noise. Deep diagnostics: see the LG dryer field service manual.
Safety first
- Unplug before opening panels; electric models run on 240 V.
- Live-voltage checks at the terminal block are caution work.
- Gas valve, gas piping and burner gas work are blocked: smell gas = leave, shut supply if safe, call the gas utility.
- Clean a blocked vent before returning the dryer to service.
How it works
A single motor turns the drum by belt and runs the blower. Electric models heat with an element protected by thermostats and a thermal fuse; gas models use an igniter, flame sensor and gas valve (gas side is referral work).
Flow Sense watches exhaust restriction and shows d75/d80/d90/d95 as the vent gets more blocked; LG says d80 means roughly 80% restriction.
Steam cycles draw cold water through a valve and steam generator/nozzle into the drum. No water supply gives 'Add Water' or E5-type codes.
Sensor Dry reads moisture through bars in the drum; thermistors report temperatures (tE1-tE4 codes in LG's dryer list).
