Hisense 35 / 50 / 70-pint dehumidifiers (DH-35K1SCLE to DH-70KP1SLE): quick sheet
Covers: Hisense portable dehumidifiers covered by one use and care guide: DH-35K1SCLE, DH-50K1SDLE, DH-70K1SLE, DH-50KD1SDLE and the pump models DH-50KP1SDLE and DH-70KP1SLE (KP = built-in pump), plus the similar DH50K1W, DH50KP1WG, DH70K1G and DH70KP1WG. No CPSC recall for Hisense-branded dehumidifiers was found (the big dehumidifier recalls were Gree, New Widetech and GD Midea units), but check the model against cpsc.gov.
These are bucket dehumidifiers with an Empty Bucket interlock, a float switch, a hose port for gravity drain and, on KP models, a pump with a 16 ft hose. The guide does not define the error codes: it only says to call Hisense if a code appears. Treat the code meanings on third-party sites as unconfirmed. Most calls are pump-light faults from the hose, 'bucket full' with an empty bucket, icing in a cold basement, and no water collected.
Safety first
- Plug into a grounded three-prong outlet; no extension cords.
- Unplug before cleaning the filter, bucket or pump.
- Sealed-system diagnosis or repair is blocked: refer to an EPA 608-certified technician.
How it works
The Empty Bucket light stops the unit when the bucket is full, missing or not seated. The float in the bucket has to be in place on its clip, or the unit reads full all the time.
Gravity drain: a garden hose on the hose port must run downhill to the floor drain with no kinks or loops.
Pump models push water up or sideways through the included 16 ft hose. The hose must be clicked into its quick-connect before you press Pump; a flashing pump light means the pump isn't working properly, most often from the hose.
In a cool room the coil frosts. Defrost turns the compressor off while the fan keeps running, so a silent compressor can be normal.
Once the humidity set point is reached, the compressor stops and the fan comes on now and then to sample the air. Continuous mode runs nonstop. Keep 12-18 in of clearance around the unit.
