Upper GE Profile built-ins with 16 place settings, a Deep Clean third rack, Twin-Turbo Dry Boost (heated dry plus fans), a Piranha hard food disposer, Wi-Fi SmartHQ and Leak Defense with Active Flood Protect. PDT795 is rated 39 dBA, PDP755 42 dBA. GE fault codes and leak alerts apply. Deep diagnostics: see the GE dishwasher field service manual.

Safety first

  • Switch off the circuit and close the water before removing the kick plate or pulling the unit.
  • These units ship without a cord: hardwire in a junction box or fit a GE cord kit, with power verified off.
  • Water may be hot after a cycle.
  • Live-voltage tests are caution work.
  • Watch for glass in the disposer area.
  • Flood risk: check connections after reinstalling.

How it works

Variable-speed dual pumps and motors (wash and drain) feed a multi-jet wash system with silverware jets, bottle jets and a third rack that is washed by its own spray. A soil sensor (ENERGY STAR lists soil sensing) adjusts AutoSense; options include Steam PreWash, Wash TempBoost and Sani.

Food is ground by the Piranha hard food disposer and caught by fine and ultra-fine filters. The drain pump empties the tub.

Drying is heated: Twin-Turbo Dry Boost uses a dual-wattage heater with two fans (High, Normal Heated Dry or Off). UltraFresh is GE's odor-control feature; its exact operation is not described in the sources read.

Active Flood Protect replaces the old mechanical float with a level sensor under the filter: on high water it shuts the fill valve, runs the drain pump and cancels the cycle. Leak Defense adds a larger plastic base pan with a sensor; when wet it shuts the valve, runs the pump, shows a message and alerts the SmartHQ app if connected.

Whirlpool family dishwashers: reading Clean-light flash codes, F#E# displays and the diagnostic cycle

Models with a display show the code as F#E#. Lights-only models blink one LED in two groups: the first group is the F (function) number, a short pause, then the E (error) number, then a long pause before it repeats. A diagnostic cycle on many of these controls is entered by pressing any three keys in a 1-2-3 order three times quickly, which lights all indicators and lets you run the cycle to watch each function.

GE appliances: reading and recalling fault codes on dishwashers and laundry

GE dishwashers with electronic controls show codes on the display (C1, H2O, PF and similar) or flash the Start/Reset light in counted groups on LED-only models. GE itself splits codes into ones the user can clear (delay, detergent cup, power failure, kinked hose) and ones that need service. GE laundry generations differ a lot: older top-loaders flash LEDs, front-loaders keep a stored-code list inside a test mode. Entry sequences vary between GE models and the sources disagree, so take them only from the model's tech sheet.

Frigidaire / Electrolux: diagnostic mode, last-fault recall and relay-test codes that are not faults

Newer Frigidaire/Electrolux dishwashers show i-codes (i10, i20, i50 and similar) and two-letter codes; during the relay test inside diagnostic mode they also show short codes that only confirm the test is running and are not faults. Front-load washers keep a last-code readout you reach with a button pair or knob position. Refrigerators lose the fault code when the plug is pulled. Entry sequences differ by model and the sources conflict, so get them from the service data sheet on the unit.
