Frigidaire FCFI3083 (AS/AB) 30 in front-control freestanding induction range: quick sheet

Covers: Frigidaire FCFI3083AS (stainless) and other suffixes of the FCFI3083A family. Freestanding with front controls and a bridge zone on the left. The Gallery induction family is a separate sheet in the library. Frigidaire range F-codes in the library apply to the oven side.

Cross-checkedBrands: Frigidaire4 components

Entry Frigidaire induction range: four induction zones (left pair can bridge), convection bake, 240/208 V. Induction calls are mostly cookware and installation (breaker size, cord), then power boards; oven calls follow the usual Frigidaire element/sensor/door-lock path.

Safety first

  • 240 V: turn the breaker off and verify dead at the terminal block before opening any panel; the oven and cooktop share the supply.
  • Anti-tip bracket must be installed and engaged before the range is returned to service.
  • Use a cord or hardwire kit matching the house wiring (3-wire or 4-wire) and the range's rating; see range-cord-3-wire-vs-4-wire.
  • Induction power boards hold charged capacitors after power-off: wait several minutes and verify before touching board components; no live work on the inverter section.
  • Customers with pacemakers or implanted medical devices should follow their doctor's and the maker's guidance on induction use.

How it works

Induction zones heat magnetic cookware only; each zone has a normal and a boost rating.

Left front and rear zones can be bridged for a griddle or long pan.

Oven has bake and broil elements plus convection.

Ranges and wall ovens: reading F-codes and F#E# codes (GE, Whirlpool family) and when a reset is safe

Oven F-codes point to a circuit: temperature sensor, door lock, keypad or control. GE ovens show F plus a number; Whirlpool-family ovens show F#E#. Both makers tell owners to clear the display, cut power at the breaker for a short time and watch whether the code returns. A code that returns is a real fault. An over-temperature code is a safety stop: do not keep using the oven.

Oven door glass cracked or shattered: make it safe, document it, and quote the door glass

Oven doors use tempered glass, which breaks into small pebbles instead of shards. Earlier damage (a chip from a rack, a knock with a pan, a scratch) can weaken it so it fails later, even when the oven is cold. A cracked panel must not be heated again: the oven stays out of service until the glass or door is replaced. The job is to make the area safe, record model, serial and photos for a warranty or safety claim, and order the correct glass pack.

Grease or stains between the oven door glass panes: how to open the door and clean it

Grease and splatter work their way between the panes through the door's vent slots and edges. The only thorough fix is to take the door off and separate the panes; a cloth on a thin stick pushed through the bottom slots gives a partial result without disassembly. The risks are breaking or chipping tempered glass and losing track of screws and spacers.
