Friedrich WallMaster WCT / WET / WHT through-the-wall air conditioners (R-410A, WSE sleeve): quick sheet

Covers: Friedrich WallMaster thru-the-wall chassis for the WSE sleeve, R-410A generation: WCT (cool only: WCT08, WCT10, WCT12, WCT16), WET (cool with electric heat: WET10, WET12, WET16) and WHT (heat pump: WHT12). Two digits = nominal cooling in thousands of BTU/h. Newer R-32 WallMaster units use different model numbers (e.g. WCVT, WHVT). Search terms: WCT08, WCT12, WET12, WHT12, Friedrich WallMaster, WSE sleeve.

WallMaster slides into Friedrich's WSE sleeve (also sold to replace old Fedders/Emerson-size sleeves). It has the same menu-driven control family as Kuhl, with a diAG menu, a check-filter timer and Wi-Fi. Calls center on circuit/receptacle match, sleeve installation and drainage, filter and coils.

Safety first

  • Do not run the chassis out of the sleeve or with the grille removed.
  • No extension cords or adapters.
  • Refrigerant work is blocked: EPA 608-certified technician.

How it works

Receptacle per Friedrich: WCT08/10/12 (115 V) on 15 A 125 V, 5-15; WCT10/12/16 (230 V) on 15 A 250 V, 6-15; WET10/12/16 and WHT12 on 20 A 250 V, 6-20.

The check-filter light comes on after about 1,000 hours of fan operation (Friedrich says 45-60 days); reset it with the CHECK FILTER button.

The chassis must not be run out of the sleeve or with the front grille off (moving parts hazard).

Trane XV20i / XV18 variable-speed outdoor units (4TTV0 AC, 4TWV0 heat pump, ComfortLink II): quick sheet

Trane variable-speed TruComfort / ComfortLink II communicating outdoor units: 4TTV0 air conditioners (XV20i family, e.g. 4TTV0024A1000C, 4TTV0036, 4TTV0048, 4TTV0060, 4TTV0061) and 4TWV0 heat pumps (Service Facts 4T-V0-SF). They use an Integrated Variable Speed Control (IVSC) board and a Communicating Display Assembly (CDA) in the outdoor unit. Distributor listings note several 4TTV0 revisions; confirm the full model on the nameplate before ordering parts. Single-stage XR14/XR16 units are on a separate sheet.

Lennox XC21 air conditioner and XP21 heat pump (Dave Lennox Signature, iComfort-enabled): quick sheet

Lennox XC21 (air conditioner, service literature Corp. 1007-L2) and XP21 (heat pump, Corp. 1031-L7), 2, 3, 4 and 5 ton, R-410A, expansion valve indoor coils only. Both use an A175 main control (outdoor control part number 101798-xx) that works in communicating (iComfort) or conventional 24 V mode, plus a separate fan motor control. The XP21 literature describes a two-stage scroll compressor; the 2018 XC21 literature describes the compressor as one-stage while the same control section covers two-stage units, so confirm staging on the nameplate. For ML14XC1/EL16XC1 single-stage units see the separate sheet.
