Friedrich Uni-Fit UCT / UET through-the-wall air conditioners (R-32, USC sleeve): quick sheet

Covers: Friedrich Uni-Fit thru-the-wall room units, R-32 generation: UCT (cooling only) and UET (cooling with electric heat). Models in the 2024 submittal: UCT08B10A, UCT10B10A, UCT12B10A (115 V), UCT10B30A, UCT12B30A, UCT14B30A (230 V), UET08B11A (115 V, 4,200 BTU/h heat), UET10B33A, UET12B33A, UET14B33A (230 V, 10,600 BTU/h heat). Two-digit number after UCT/UET = cooling in thousands of BTU/h. Chassis 14-1/2 x 24-1/4 in; new installs use the Friedrich USC sleeve (15-1/2 x 25-7/8 x 16-3/4 in). Earlier Uni-Fit models (UE/US prefixes, R-410A) share the sleeve concept but not the specs. Search terms: UCT10B30A, UET12B33A, Friedrich Uni-Fit, USC sleeve.

Uni-Fit is a replacement through-the-wall chassis designed to slide into many existing 24-1/2 to 27 in sleeves (a trim ring covers the gap), or into Friedrich's USC sleeve for new work. It is a room AC, not a PTAC: it plugs into a dedicated receptacle with an LCDI cord. Calls are mostly cord/circuit, sleeve fit and drainage, airflow and coil cleaning.

Safety first

  • Never use an extension cord with this unit (Friedrich).
  • R-32 is mildly flammable: no open flames near the unit; refrigerant work is blocked and goes to an EPA 608-certified technician.
  • Lift the chassis by the base pan with a helper; fins are sharp.

How it works

Room air is drawn through the front, cooled across the indoor coil and returned; heat is rejected at the rear coil through the sleeve grille.

UET models add a resistance heater; heating amps are about 13 A on the 115 V UET08 and 15 A on the 230 V UET10-14 per the submittal.

Power cords exit at the front left. Friedrich lists: UCT 115 V models on 125 V / 15 A with a 5-15P; UCT 230 V on 250 V / 15 A with a 6-20P plug; UET08B11A on 125 V / 15 A, 5-15P; UET 230 V models on 250 V / 20 A, 6-20P.

Friedrich says not to run cooling below about 60 °F outdoor: the unit will not cool properly and can be damaged.

Carrier Infinity Greenspeed 24VNA6 air conditioner and 25VNA4 heat pump (variable speed): quick sheet

Carrier Infinity Greenspeed Intelligence variable-speed outdoor units: 24VNA6 air conditioner (up to 26 SEER) and 25VNA4 heat pump (up to 24 SEER, up to 13 HSPF), 2-5 ton. Nomenclature from the service manual: 24 = AC, 25 = HP; V = variable speed; N = Infinity series; A = Puron (R-410A); 6 / 4 = SEER tier; two digits = nominal capacity (e.g. 36 = 36,000 BTU/h); voltage digit 3 = 208/230-1; compressor ID 4 = variable-speed scroll, 5 = variable-speed rotary. Serial format: week + year + plant letter + sequence (e.g. 0118E00001). Other 24VNA families (24VNA0, 24VNA9) use different software and code lists.

Trane XV20i / XV18 variable-speed outdoor units (4TTV0 AC, 4TWV0 heat pump, ComfortLink II): quick sheet

Trane variable-speed TruComfort / ComfortLink II communicating outdoor units: 4TTV0 air conditioners (XV20i family, e.g. 4TTV0024A1000C, 4TTV0036, 4TTV0048, 4TTV0060, 4TTV0061) and 4TWV0 heat pumps (Service Facts 4T-V0-SF). They use an Integrated Variable Speed Control (IVSC) board and a Communicating Display Assembly (CDA) in the outdoor unit. Distributor listings note several 4TTV0 revisions; confirm the full model on the nameplate before ordering parts. Single-stage XR14/XR16 units are on a separate sheet.

Lennox XC21 air conditioner and XP21 heat pump (Dave Lennox Signature, iComfort-enabled): quick sheet

Lennox XC21 (air conditioner, service literature Corp. 1007-L2) and XP21 (heat pump, Corp. 1031-L7), 2, 3, 4 and 5 ton, R-410A, expansion valve indoor coils only. Both use an A175 main control (outdoor control part number 101798-xx) that works in communicating (iComfort) or conventional 24 V mode, plus a separate fan motor control. The XP21 literature describes a two-stage scroll compressor; the 2018 XC21 literature describes the compressor as one-stage while the same control section covers two-stage units, so confirm staging on the nameplate. For ML14XC1/EL16XC1 single-stage units see the separate sheet.
