De'Longhi Pinguino portable air conditioners (Pinguino Extreme and PAC families): quick sheet with display codes
Covers: De'Longhi Pinguino single- and dual-hose portable air conditioners (Pinguino Extreme and other Pinguino PAC models). Read the full model and serial number on the rating label at the back of the unit; De'Longhi code sets differ by region and generation, so match the code to the model's own manual. Search terms: De'Longhi Pinguino HL, Pinguino Lt, Pinguino PF, Pinguino FI, De'Longhi PAC error.
Pinguino units are self-contained room coolers that exhaust heat through a window hose; they keep an internal safety tank (internal tray) that stops the unit with a code when full. Display codes are short letter pairs: tank full, frost prevention, probe failure and two generic failure codes. Most service calls are tank/drain, hose installation, filter and frost.
Safety first
- Unplug before draining or cleaning.
- Refrigerant work is blocked: EPA 608-certified technician.
How it works
Condensate that is not disposed of collects in the internal safety tank/tray. When it is full, the unit stops and shows HL (some models show Ft).
Frost prevention: when the evaporator gets too cold the unit shows Lt and defrosts, then restarts on its own.
Lh (Pinguino Extreme) appears only in the Real Feel mode when room humidity is very low; switching mode resumes operation.
