Movies look like a cheap video or soap opera (motion smoothing)
This is motion interpolation: the TV creates in-between frames to smooth motion, which makes 24 fps film look like video. It is a picture setting, on by default on many TVs. Turn it off or down by brand (Samsung Auto Motion Plus / Picture Clarity, LG TruMotion), or switch to Filmmaker Mode, which disables it in one step. Note the trade-off: with it off, fast motion can look a bit blurrier.
