Field pattern: front-loader still won't drain after a new pump (check the tub-to-pump hose)

A running pump that moves little water is usually blocked upstream or downstream, not dead. Techs find socks, baby clothes, bra wires and hair ties lodged in the tub-to-pump hose or the tub outlet, or a kinked drain hose and clogged standpipe. Swapping the pump without checking the hoses is the common wrong turn.
