Field pattern: new control board failed again (find the shorted load first)
Boards rarely die twice on their own. Techs find a shorted or high-current load (motor, pump, heater, valve, switch), a burned connector or wire end, or a supply problem that kills the new board too. The wrong turn is plugging a new board into the same harness without testing the loads and repairing heat-damaged terminals.
Before you start
- Unplug and wait for board capacitors to discharge before handling
- Live current and voltage checks are caution: insulated probes, one hand
- Handle boards with ESD precautions
