Main control board: power-in checks, outputs, and board vs load
Most boards that get replaced are fine; the real fault is usually missing input power, a bad load, or a harness. Prove the board has power in, is commanding an output, and that the output actually leaves the board before condemning it.
Before you start
- Unplug before unplugging connectors or measuring resistance
- Live-voltage tests: use a CAT III-rated meter, insulated probes and one hand; keep the other hand away from the chassis
- Inverter and motor-drive boards hold charge in large capacitors after power-off: wait and verify DC bus is near 0 V
- Photograph every connector before removing it
