Guide · Wine CoolerA light film that comes and goes can be normal on cold-wall units. Thick or growing ice means warm, humid air is getting in (gasket, door not closing, frequent openings), the setpoint is too cold, the unit is in a hot or poorly vented spot, or the defrost function has failed on auto-defrost models.
Guide · Wine CoolerThermoelectric units can only pull the cabinet roughly 10-12 °F below the room and most will not go below about 50 °F. Above about 80 °F room temperature they cannot hold wine temperature, and below about 50 °F they cannot keep up either because there is no heater. Boxing a freestanding unit into cabinetry kills its heat sink airflow. Measure the room before condemning the module.
Guide · Wine CoolerWhen one zone of a dual-zone cooler works, the compressor or main cooling is usually alive. Focus on what each zone has on its own: its sensor, its fan, its air path or damper, its door seal and its section of the control.
