Component test · TVLED strips are wired in series strings and run from a constant-current driver at high DC voltage (often around 80-200 V total). One dead LED opens the string and the driver shuts down. Test LEDs with a backlight tester, not a meter diode range, and replace all strips as a set.
Guide · TVSome makers use the standby LED as a self-diagnosis output. Sony, for example, repeats a group of blinks with a pause, and the count names a fault area. The meaning of a count depends on the maker and the chassis, so one model's table does not apply to another. Samsung's support simply says that if the red light still blinks after a power cycle on a known-good outlet, the set needs service. Use the blink only to separate power-delivery problems from internal faults and to point to a board.
Guide · TVIf a faint picture shows under a flashlight, the panel and main board are working and the backlight is the fault: failed LED strips, an LED driver or the power board's backlight output. The wrong turn is ordering a main board or T-con because the screen is black; the flashlight test takes a minute and points to the right section. Also rule out the source and settings first.
